The 5/2 favourite in an open betting heat, the winner was led in the early stages by Springwater Boy but, having edged ahead passing the winning line for the first time, he led Striking Dream into the bend.

The pair had already opened up a gap over the other four by the second bend at which point Striking Dream moved upsides the favourite.

But, no sooner had he done that than King Okee asserted his superiority and had taken a clear advantage by halfway.

The James O'Donnell trained dog was in control afterwards as Striking Dream's challenge petered out at the last bend and although running on well eventual second, Rattlesnake Ted, never held out the slightest hope of getting to the winner who had four lengths to spare at the line in 31.38.

Fastest standard distance time of the night who clocked by Druids Forrest, who romped home nine and a half lengths clear of Ballyheeda Darky in 28.47 in the third race (A4). The Michael Brennan trained dog has now won three of his six starts and looks the sort to continue to progress.
