Dreaper Caper to pay-off

JIM DREAPER, who has his horses in fine shape, can strike again at Sligo this evening with Caimin’s Caper in the Yeats’ Country Bumper.

Dreaper Caper to pay-off

The son of Norwich made a highly promising debut at Clonmel last month, finishing three lengths second behind the useful Accordion Etoile.

He was travelling just as well as the eventual winner for most of the straight, before being outspeeded close home. Caimin’s Caper was subsequently disqualified, after his rider failed to weigh in. It was most encouraging that the third horse was beaten a further 13 lengths and Dreaper’s charge has to be fancied to do the business now.

Christy Roche’s Kadiskar lives in a different world to his rivals in the Knockbeg Maiden Hurdle and cannot realistically be opposed. His last run saw him contest the Deloitte And Touche Novice hurdle at Leopardstown in February, when he was far from disgraced in taking fifth behind Solerina and subsequent Cheltenham hero, Hardy Eustace. Previously, Kadiskar won a maiden in smooth style at Fairyhouse, beating Pay It Forward and Leinster, but lost that race afterwards on a technicality.

Sally Webster is the choice to provide the solution to the Creggs Mares Hurdle. She left some disappointing efforts behind with a decisive ten lengths defeat of Mrs Avery at Killarney last time.

Bizet gets the nod in a competitive little Mole Handicap Hurdle. He won two races in a canter at the back-end of last year, at Thurles and Limerick. Tony Martin’s charge went up a whopping 25lbs for those successes, but still doesn’t appear harshly treated!
