Derby forces England kick-off change

ENGLAND have switched the kick-off time of their friendly against Jamaica to accommodate television coverage of the match and the Vodafone Derby.

The Wembley game on June 3 is England’s last before the World Cup begins, but rather than it starting at 3pm, kick-off has now been moved to 2pm.

That will allow BBC1 to screen the match and the Derby from Epsom, which is due off at 4.20pm.

An FA spokesman said: “We have worked hard with the BBC and Epsom to accommodate both of these prestigious sporting events, and consulted with Sven-Goran Eriksson, the Jamaican Football Federation and the police to reach a sensible compromise.”
