Róisín Ní Riain won her third medal of the World Para Swimming Championships, and her second silver, by finishing second in the S13 100m backstroke in Singapore.
Ní Riain touched the wall in 1:06.26, a new personal best. She was 0.77 of a second behind winner Gia Pergolini of the USA. Italian Carlotta Gilli finished third in 1:07.87.
"That hurt the most the 100 backstroke has probably ever hurt!" said the Limerick swimmer.
"My PB was two years old so really happy to come out and get a new one."
Ní Riain won gold in the S13 100m backstroke at the world championships two years ago and claimed silver at last year's Paralympic Games. She had already won bronze in the S13 100m butterfly and silver in the S13 100m breaststroke at these championships.
Ní Riain has two events remaining in Singapore, the S13 400m freestyle and the SM13 200m individual medley.
On Thursday, Dearbhaile Brady is back in the pool competing in the S6 50m freestyle, a direct final.
