World number two Rafael Nadal has been knocked out of the Australian Open after a masterful display from Chile’s Fernando Gonzalez.

The hard-hitting South American needed little more than two hours to send Andy Murray’s conqueror crashing out 6-2 6-4 6-3 in the quarter-finals at Melbourne Park.
