Eastbourne debut for Clijsters

Former world number one Kim Clijsters is set to make her debut at the Hastings Direct International Championships in Eastbourne this summer.

The 21-year-old is the latest big name to confirm her participation in the event, joining fellow Belgian Justine Henin-Hardenne and last year’s runner-up Amelie Mauresmo.

Clijsters said: “I’m very excited and definitely looking forward to playing at Eastbourne. I’ve heard a lot of good things about it.
