Gleeson wins Mick Cahill Memorial

VINCENT GLEESON won the hotly contested Mick Cahill Memorial cycling event in Banteer yesterday.

It was a great day for the local club who were sporting their new sponsor’s jerseys from O’Leary Stone and even if they had nobody figuring in the results, they put on a great event which attracted over 100 competitors.

The race was dominated by break groups and it came down to incisiveness in the last few miles by the pack to let Gleeson move ahead.
