Luke Donald and Tyrrell Hatton among stars added to Irish Open roster
CLARE TO HERE: Tyrrell Hatton who will tee it up at Doonbeg.
Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald will be joined by one of the stars of Europe's win against the USA in Bethpage last year when he tees up at this year's Irish Open at the Trump International Golf Links Doonbeg.
Tyrrell Hatton secured the half-point that sealed Ryder Cup victory for Europe in New York last year and he has just won the latest LIV event, at Real Club Valderrama, on Sunday. He is also a five-time Rolex Series winner.
“The Amgen Irish Open is always one of the tournaments you look out for on the schedule," said the world number 21.
“The fans create a fantastic atmosphere every year and links golf is a challenge that all of us enjoy. I'm looking forward to getting to Doonbeg and hopefully putting myself in contention.”
Rasmus Højgaard and twin brother Nicolai Højgaard have also been pencilled in for a September tournament where the cream of Ireland’s talent will once again be the main draw for spectators.
Rory McIlroy is defending champion after his dramatic playoff win at The K Club in 2025. Major winners Pádraig Harrington and Shane Lowry, as well as Séamus Power and Tom McKibbin, will also take part.
"I had the chance to play at Doonbeg in 2010 and it was a great experience,” said Donald. “I've always loved competing in Ireland. The atmosphere, the passionate fans and the challenge of links golf make it such a special place to play.”
Sunday general admission, premium experiences and Ticket+ packages are already sold out for the tournament that takes place from September 10-13.
