There's few better partners to have in golf than Rory McIlroy, but Gerry McIlroy sure pulled his weight at Juno Beach on Monday as father and son claimed the Seminole Pro-Member.

The reigning Masters champion and current world number 2 teed it up at one of golf's most famous courses a week after finishing runner up at the Genesis Invitational in Los Angeles, and shot a best-ball 63 alongside Gerry to win the gross division.

Despite the event  no purse, no TV coverage and no Official World Golf Ranking points, the field was star studded. Other contenders included Brooks Koepka, Collin Morikawa, Shane Lowry, Rickie Fowler and Matt Fitzpatrick aswell as LPGA stars Nelly and Jessica Korda.

The McIlroy's finished two strokes ahead of duo Rickie Fowler and former US Walker Cup captain Buddy Marucci. Meanwhile, Morikawa and member David Novak shot a net 62 and won a match of cards with the McIlroys.

The event's proximity to the Cognizant Classic - which took place last weekend - and the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Bay Hill - which commences on Thursday - plus the locality of numerous tour pros means the Seminole Pro-Member is set up perfectly to draw in the games top talent.

Rory will feature at the Arnold Palmer Invitational where he will be looking to pick up his 46th career victory.
