Cork's Sarah Byrne and Kildare's Lauren Walsh are six shots off the leader Germany's Helen Briem at the Hulencourt Women's Open in Belgium.
Byrne and Walsh are both tied for 16th after round two. Byrne hit six birdies and two bogeys during her round to finish on four under 68 while Walsh hit four birdies and a bogey for her three under 69 to leave the duo two under for the tournament and in a good position heading into the weekend.
Walsh will be hoping for a better performance over the weekend after she was a 36-hole leader last week in Tenerife before falling back at the weekend.
Breim hit an eight-under par dropping just one shot on the fifth hold to take the outright lead. The 19-year-old rolled in five birdies and sits just one shot ahead of 18-year-old Avani Prashanth. The rookie closed her second round with a birdie to sit on seven-under par for the tournament.
Australia's Kelsey Bennett is in third on six-under par. She dropped just one shot on the second hole but hit birdies on the sixth and seventh in what was a solid second round.
