Douglas' Sara Byrne inspired Great Britain and Ireland to a stirring fightback to level the scores at 3-3 against the United States of America on the opening day of the 43rd Curtis Cup.

In glorious conditions at Sunningdale, Meghan Stasi’s visiting team opened up a 2-1 lead following the morning foursomes.
