Weather strikes again in Kuala Lumpur
Matteo Manassero moved four shots off the lead after completing his delayed second round at the Maybank Malaysian Open today, but more weather problems have hit play at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club.
The Italian, who turns 18 next week, was one of a number of players affected after a thunderstorm forced yesterday’s second round to spill over into day three.
That meant an early start today for Manassero, but back-to-back birdies on the final two holes allowed him to sign for a one-under 71 to keep him in touch with overnight leaders Rory McIlroy and Alexander Noren.
Newly-crowned Masters champion Charl Schwartzel also posted 71 in completing his second round, but sits some way off the pace on level par.
However, play was then hit by another lengthy postponement following further heavy downpours.
