McDowell fails to make cut in South Korea

Defending champion Graeme McDowell has failed to make the cut at the Ballantine's Championship in South Korea.

The Portrush golfer carded a second-round 73 today to reach the halfway stage on five over par, 14 shots adrift of leader Robert-Jan Derksen.

Gareth Maybin is the best of the Irish competitors after finishing up today on two under, while Peter Lariwe and Paul McGinley have just made the cut on one over par.

Jonathan Caldwell reached the halfway stage on six over par, while Damien McGrane carded a disastrous 84 today to finish up on nine over.
