Man, 40s, taken to hospital after car driven down steps at church in Glanmire

A man in his 40s has been taken to hospital to treatment following a single-vehicle collision at a church in Glanmire, Cork, on Thursday afternoon.

Gardaí said the incident occurred shortly after 3.20pm and involved one vehicle, which was reportedly being driven down the pedestrian steps of St Joseph’s Church. 

The driver was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. 

Emergency services also attended the scene.

Gardaí had earlier closed the road, with local diversions put in place.
