Lee Westwood grabbed his second eagle in the space of five holes this morning to regain a share of the lead in the Quinn Insurance British Masters at The Belfry.

After long fog delays the previous two mornings, conditions were fine for an 8am resumption and, with the tournament still in its third round, Westwood started off by missing a 10-foot birdie chance on the second.

However, at the 538-yard third he was down in three just as he had been by holing a bunker shot on the long 17th last night.

Westwood’s round had started with three successive bogeys, but the two eagles and a birdie in between took him to eight under par alongside New Zealander Michael Campbell.

However, former US Open champion Campbell then made it three birdies in a row - the first had come on the fifth last night – to get his nose back in front on his own at nine under.
