Nocera matches Johnson record
European number two Gwladys Nocera of France hit the second round of 62 in as many days to match Felicity Johnson’s efforts at the Gothenburg Masters at Lycke Golf Club.
England’s Johnson took the course record yesterday with her 10-under-par 62 but saw Nocera equal that score to move into the lead.
Nocera even went one better, setting a new record for the lowest 36-hole total in a 72-hole Ladies European Tour event with a 16-under-par 128.
Paula Marti, a two-time winner, was alone in second place on 14-under after a six-under 66 which included seven birdies and a bogey, while Johnson was two further back in third.
Another English player, Georgina Thompson, is seven off the lead with a total of 135 after carding an impressive 65.
