Prammanasudh remain in control

tacy Prammanasudh carded three birdies and an eagle in a second round four under-par 68 to take a three-shot lead heading into the weekend’s action at the inaugural Navistar LPGA Classic.

Prammansudh, who has two career wins, tops the leaderboard ahead of world number one Lorena Ochoa, with Britain’s Lindsey Wright a further shot adrift.

Money-leader Ochoa is seeking her fourth straight victory with the hopes of inching closer to Annika Sorenstam and Nancy Lopez’s LPGA record of five tournament wins in a row.

Norway’s Suzann Pettersen, who ranks second on the money list, is tied for 34th at one-under and is the only multiple winner alongside Ochoa playing this weekend.

“It feels great being this late in the year and playing this well,” said Prammansudh. “I couldn’t be more pleased. I knew I had to play pretty good this week to secure a shot for the Samsung tournament in two weeks, so hopefully I can do that. We’ll see what happens this weekend.”

Ochoa carded four of her five birdies on the back nine, while Wright had a bogey on her first hole on the back nine, but rebounded with five birdies.

“I started off with a bogey on number 10 and that kind of helped me re-focus, if anything,” said Wright.

“I was just really relaxed the last two days and I felt really comfortable. I have just worked so hard on my game.”
