Clark sets the pace in Texas

South African Tim Clark fired a six-under-par 64 on Friday to take a one-stroke lead midway through the second round of the €4.4m Crowne Plaza Invitational.

Clark started on the back nine at Colonial Country Club and holed six birdies and no bogeys.

He was especially strong after the turn, recording birdies on the first, third, fourth and seventh.

Clark’s nearest challenger is American Arron Oberholser, who carded a 66 to improve to 10-under-par for the tournament.

Rain has plagued the first two days of the event, suspending Thursday’s first round until Friday morning.

Kevin Na and Anthony Kim shared the lead at seven under after the opening round.
