Poulter books US Open spot

Ian Poulter’s season has at last taken a turn for the better with him grabbing a last-gasp place in next week’s US Open.

The Ryder Cup star, who failed to qualify for the Masters and last month was fined €7,200 for a verbal outburst during the Irish Open, found his best game to share first place in the qualifying tournament in Columbus, Ohio.
