New Zealander Michael Campbell missed a three-foot birdie chance on the first before cutting the gap with a 12-footer at the long third, but Casey, after missing from five and four feet, pitched to five feet again on the fifth and made it to improve to 14 under.

Darren Clarke, third with a round to go, bogeyed three of the first four holes and lying joint third on 10 under were Scot Stephen Gallacher and Swedes Jarmo Sandelin and Johan Edfors.
