Lawrie, McGrane, Murphy in action at Algarve Open

Peter Lawrie, Damien McGrane and Gary Murphy are leading a six-strong Irish contingent at the Algarve Open in Portugal, which starts today.

England's Paul Broadhurst is defending his title at the tournament, which is the first European Tour event to take place on mainland Europe this season.

Meanwhile, Padraig Harrington and Graeme McDowell will be in action at the Bell South Classic in Georgia in the coming days.

Defending champion and world number four Phil Mickelson is among the favourites to win the event.
