Clarke in contention despite late bogey
A bogey on the 18th saw Ireland's Darren Clarke slip into a tie for fifth after today's third round of the Barclays Scottish Open at Loch Lomond.
South African Tim Clark and Dutchman Maarten Lafeber share the lead going into the final round of the Barclays Scottish Open at Loch Lomond.
Clark, third in the US Open three weeks ago, fired a 65 to move to a 15-under-par total of 198, while halfway leader Lafeber’s 68 keeps alive his hopes of a second European win – and a place in the British Open next week.
One behind are Scot Alastair Forsyth (67) and Argentina’s Angel Cabrera.
Darren Clarke bogeyed the last and is three back along with Australian Adam Scott and Thai golfer Thongchai Jaidee. Clarke was furious with himself for pushing his last drive into a bunker.
He bogeyed three holes during the day but managed five birdies on the front nine in his round of 69.
