Jimenez at the double

Miguel Angel Jimenez grabbed his second Ryder Cup-counting victory today when he won a dramatic Johnnie Walker Classic in Bangkok.

Jimenez, who won in Majorca in October when Jose Maria Olazabal dropped three strokes in the last two holes, this time collected the €244,000 first prize after long-time leader Thomas Bjorn hit two drives into water in the last five holes.

The 40-year-old Spaniard, who like last week’s winner Marcel Siem wears his hair in a ponytail, had a closing 68 for 17 under par. Bjorn shared second place with Indian Jyoti Randhawa, who had a best-of-the-day 64.

Bjorn was one ahead when he first found water on the long 14th and as he also bogeyed the 577-yard 17th Jimenez made a 25-foot birdie putt to be two ahead.

Ireland's Peter Lawrie finished tied in fifty-ninth place at three under par. Gary Murphy was tied at fifty-third on four under.
