Germany’s Marcel Siem birdied the third play-off hole to win the dunhill Championship at the Houghton Country Club on Sunday.

Siem finished alongside two Frenchmen, Raphael Jacquelin and Gregory Havret, on a tournament record score of 266, beating the 267 set by Adam Scott of Australia in 2001.

Siem missed opportunities to win the title on the first two play-off holes before eventually clinching it on the third.
