South African Trevor Immelman birdied the last two holes to force a play-off with Spain’s Ignacio Garrido for the Volvo PGA title at Wentworth today.

Garrido scored a best-of-the-day 65, but failed to birdie either of the two closing par fives and Immelman took advantage.

In fact, he nearly made an 80-footer on the last to win. They tied on the 18 under par total of 270.

Immelman was on in two with two woods at the last and after a long delay because his partner Niclas Fasth hit trouble - and then nearly hit him with his recovery from behind the trees - he amazingly hit the edge of the hole from almost 80 feet.

It went 18 inches feet past and he sank that to force a play-off with Garrido.
