Europe tame Tiger and edge ahead

Europe achieved their two main objectives at the Ryder Cup today – get in front and knock Tiger Woods off his perch.

Sam Torrance’s men, underdogs as usual, may be playing “We Will Rock You” at full volume in their team room, but out on the course for most of the opening day at The Belfry it was more a case of “We Will Shock You.”
