McGrane wins Derry pro-am

Damian McGrane polished off a superb performance at City of Derry with an eagle two to win the £20,000 54-holes McCambridge-Duffy pro-am tournament yesterday.

Damian McGrane polished off a superb performance at City of Derry with an eagle two to win the £20,000 (€31,575) 54-hole McCambridge-Duffy pro-am tournament yesterday.

The Wexford Club professional returned scores of 67, 71 and 65 for a 10-under-par total of 203 and a three-shot win over Damian Mooney (Laganview).

McGrane carded a bogey-free round of four birdies and an eagle on Saturday.

He was out in two under-par, pencilled in two more birdies on the back nine and signed off with an eagle two at the 18th hole as he sank his pitch shot from 40 yards.

Two shots behind Mooney was Phil Harrison from England who is a regular in this annual tournament.
