Colin Montgomerie and Tiger Woods are tied at the turn in the final round of the Deutsche Bank Open.

The defending champion and the Scot are at 19 under with eight to play.

Despite a sleepless night caused by his back injury, Montgomerie managed to birdie the first two holes to stretch his advantage from one to three.

The Scot added another on the next, but Woods holed a 20-foot eagle putt and was back to only one behind when Montgomerie bogeyed the short fifth.

Each of them then parred the following four holes to turn in 34, but Woods then picked up a shot on the 10th, leaving Montgomerie and the world number one on 19 under par.

Montgomerie did not only have Woods to worry about. Mansfield's Greg Owen played a brilliant front nine of 31 to take over third spot from Justin Rose and was only two behind. Rose was two strokes further back.
