Can you imagine what a life-changing year 2006 was for Geoff? First, he wins the U.S. Open, and then he becomes a first-time father. He didn’t play a lot for the rest of that year — he deserved a break. To be honest, he hasn’t looked like an Open champion this year.... He ranks 123rd in fairways hit and 137th in GIR. That’s not good. Missing fairways and greens is a great way to miss the cut at Oakmont.
