Curtis, Hamilton...McDowell?

YOU look at a golfer of Graeme McDowell's stature, reflect on what Ben Curtis and Todd Hamilton have achieved in the past two Opens and wonder...if they can do it, why can't McDowell?

Curtis, Hamilton...McDowell?

Curtis, Hamilton or the other recent shock winners of majors like Rich Beem and Shaun Micheel never showed the same potential as the Irishman, yet they are all major winners. But McDowell does have one advantage and that is time.

He is still only 25 and while he does go on a bit about "learning curves", he is also a very positive individual who believes that the good times are only just around the corner. At 100-1, he represents great value over a course where he shot ten under par 62 in last year's Dunhill Links tournament.
