€20,000 payment to victims of Stardust fire to recognise 'delays in providing truth and justice'

Survivors of the Stardust fire will receive a fixed payment of €20,000 to recognise the “delays in providing truth and justice”, the justice minister has announced.

In the second phase of a scheme after families of the bereaved received ex gratia payments, this new phase will see payments totalling €16.4m given to survivors of the Dublin nightclub fire in 1981.
