Clare race clear of Cork to reach decider

CLARE may have gone into this game as underdogs, having never won a Munster IHC title, but on July 13 they will get a chance to alter that record against Limerick.
Clare race clear of Cork to reach decider

Kevin Kennedy’s side qualified with an emphatic ten-point victory over a Cork side seeking three successive titles at this level in yesterday afternoon’s semi-final in the Gaelic Grounds.

A powerful closing quarter enabled Clare to pull clear after the match was delicately poised. Clare led 0-14 to 0-13 but they produced a devastating scoring spree that yielded 2-5 in the last 15 minutes. In contrast Cork could only muster two points with Clare goalkeeper Andrew Fahy denying them the opportunity to raise green flags with a series of outstanding blocks.
