Ger Manley and Eamon O'Shea to lead Ireland in shinty/camogie and hurling internationals

The games are being played as a double-header at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on October 24

All-Ireland winning Cork manager Ger Manley will again take charge of the Ireland team for next month's shinty/camogie international against Scotland. Former Tipperary manager Eamon O'Shea will manage Ireland for the shinty/hurling game. The matches will be played as a double-header at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on October 24.

Manley led Ireland to victory in Inverness last year. 

"I'm thrilled to be involved with the Ireland team once more in 2026," said Midleton man Manley.

"Having previously been involved as a player, and having managed the group last year in Inverness, it is a brilliant opportunity to represent your country

"I'm looking forward to the preparations alongside Gemma, Elaine, Jennifer, Pat and Kieran over the coming weeks, ahead of what should be a brilliant occasion in SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on 24th October."

The women's game gets underway at 4pm and the men's game at 6pm. The Irish men's team beat Scotland for the third consecutive time last year.

“The management team and myself really looking forward to the challenge," said O'Shea.

"It is foremost an opportunity for our hurlers across the country to showcase their skills in an international environment. The game against Scotland will be exciting, fast and skilful. No better place than Páirc Uí Chaoimh to showcase the fundamentals of the two ancient games."
