Cork and Galway both saw their double dreams ended last weekend, but now their focus is on ensuring their bid to land the All-Ireland hurling title lasts at least another couple of weeks.
The Rebels and the Tribesmen are still reeling after their losses to Mayo and Dublin respectively in Croke Park last weekend and supporters of both counties will be desperately hoping to avoid another tough defeat at GAA’s HQ this weekend.
For Cork, they will be looking to book their place in their third successive All-Ireland senior hurling championship final and move a step closer to ending their 21-year wait to get their hands back on the Liam MacCarthy.
As for Galway, they are looking to return to the showpiece occasion for the first time since 2018 when they were narrowly beaten by Limerick, a year after they lifted the title when they defeated Waterford.
Speaking of Limerick, they are also in action this weekend when they take on Munster rivals Clare.
After winning four All-Irelands in a row, the Treaty will be aiming to return to the final after a three-year absence when they beat Kilkenny back in 2023 while Clare’s last final appearance came in 2024 when they beat Cork in a thriller.
It promises to be another enthralling weekend in the All-Ireland senior hurling championship.
