Offaly and Wexford will launch the Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship next Saturday, May 16th in Tullamore, in a double-header with the counties' clash in the Leinster SHC.
It kicks off a new format for the camogie championship this year. The senior grade is now split into two groups, of four and six teams, with last year's All-Ireland semi-finalists — Galway, Cork, Waterford and Tipperary — placed in Group 1 and the remaining counties — Offaly, Wexford, Kilkenny, Limerick, Clare and Dublin — in Group 2.
The Group 1 round-robin series will provide the two sides' with passage directly to the All-Ireland semi-finals, with the teams in third and fourth going to the quarter-finals. There they will face the top two teams from Group 2.
This year's quarter-finals will be played as double-headers with the All-Ireland hurling semi-finals.
The All-Ireland camogie final is fixed for August 9, with Camogie president Brian Molloy "calling on every camogie supporter to circle Sunday, August 9th in their diary and commit to being in Croke Park for the Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Finals."
He added: "Regardless of which counties qualify, this is our showcase day. A celebration of our sport, our players and our community. Together, we have an opportunity to make a powerful statement about Camogie and continue driving our game forward.”
