The Munster Intermediate Camogie final is the latest game to fall foul of the skort controversy.

On Sunday night, the Munster Camogie Council postponed the meeting of Kerry and Cork, fixed for May 18th, until after the Special Congress vote on skorts, set for May 22nd.

The council apologised "if this decision is inconveniencing any of our members".

This follows the postponement of Saturday's Munster senior final between Cork and Waterford, after players on both sides vowed to play wearing shorts, in breach of the current rule requiring skorts to be worn.

A vote on the rule will take place at a Special Congress this month, after the Camogie Association bowed last week to pressure from players.

However, Sunday's Ulster Senior Camogie final between Antrim and Derry went ahead as scheduled, but only after some Derry players changed out of the shorts they wore ahead of the throw-in.

Some of the Derry players took to the field in Dunloy wearing shorts though others wore skorts.

Match referee Philip McDonald enforced the rule at the coin toss and the offending Derry players returned to the dressing-rooms to change.

The Derry squad said they had taken the decision that half their players would wear shorts to "stand in solidarity with fellow players who wish to have the right to choose whatever uniform they wish to wear while playing our beloved sport".

"We understand that officials must stick to the current outdated rules of the game and ask that all officials are respected regardless of the outcome of our protest," said the Derry statement.

"We hope that our protest clearly demonstrates to the Congress the need for change."

Antrim defeated Derry by 2-17 to 1-11 in the final, with goals from Nicole McAtamney and Orlaith McAllister.
