1 min: It hasn't taken long for the battle to start between the Limerick forwards and the Tipp backs.
4pm: We're off in Thurles.

One change for Limerick. Cathal O'Neill drops out of selected team, Tom Morrissey in. Limerick team contains 10 players that began last year's All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Cork. Tipp unchanged.
Eoghan Cormican is at FBD Semple Stadium for us and will keep us updated with all the goings on throughout.
He confirms the major news. Nickie Quaid is in-fact in.
Quaid, along with the rest of the Limerick panel, emerged from underneath the Kinane Stand at 3.34pm. Once the team photo was done, he went straight into goals and the preparatory shots quickly followed in at him. The most unexpected of returns - five months post ACL rupture - is on.

The second half is underway.
Here come the Rebels, at last.
And the Clare players are back out on the pitch, almost time for the second half. Cork are making them wait though, no sign of them as yet.
An emphatic performance by Cork thus far. Has the remnants of the league game although their accuracy was better on that occasion. A third straight Round 1 defeat is staring at Clare although they have come back from the two previous setbacks to reach Munster finals.
The teams go in with Cork in complete control after a dominant first-half display. Clare have looked off it and you'd expect them to improve drastically in the second period.

What a point from Alan Connolly who picks up the ball, pirouettes by the sideline and sends it over. Tony Kelly scores in response.

Ciaran Joyce's helmet pops off in contact and the play is halted. That's a free to Cork, the referee Liam Gordan, explains.
Huge sequence of play for Clare. Quilligan makes a great save from Connolly to deny a goal, after a mistake from Conlan. They get the ball away and McCarthy adds a fourth free. Patrick Horgan punishes dissent to the ref with another successful free.

Bit of team news from John Fogarty in Ennis: Darragh Lohan for Conor Cleary is the only pre-game change. There had been speculation about Diarmuid Ryan not starting but that doesn't appear to be the case. Declan Dalton would seem made for a game like this and looks sharp in the warm-up but remains in reserve for Cork. Barely a wind to speak about in Ennis.
Pat Ryan has been speaking to Damian Lawlor: "It's the All-Ireland champions in Ennis, it's going to be a huge challenge. A huge task for us today but we're hoping to give it a good shot."
"In the last 50 years, only seven other All-Ireland champions lost their first match the following summer; Tipperary (2017 and 2020), Clare (1996 and 2014), Kilkenny (1994 and 2004) and Galway (1989). Five of those defeats (including Limerick’s in 2019) came in the qualifier era but none of those teams retained their All-Ireland."
Read Christy O'Connor's talking points ahead of the day's action.
These lads are kings of hype, Donal Óg Cusack says on the RTÉ broadcast, nodding at Dalo and Clare. Anthony suggests Cork have driven on since last year's All-Ireland decider and Clare have been in 'tailspin'.
In what will be a tight round robin, as always, there are precious points at stake this afternoon. But there's pride too - with the champions Clare disrespected in the run-up according to Anthony Daly.
We have a hugely-enjoyable live preview show on Leeside on Thursday night. Listen back here.

Who else is excited?
After a couple of weeks of intense build-up, post the league final, the Munster hurling championship throws in this afternoon.
And it's a mouth-watering pairing to start us off as last year's All-Ireland finalists, Cork and Clare, meet at Cusack Park.
We'll go puck by puck throughout.
