At the outset of the last decade, when Portumna’s period of dominance of the All-Ireland club championship appeared as if it may be coming to an end (after Ballyhale Shamrocks had halted their bid to win a third successive title in 2010), the loosening of that grip ushered in a whole new era for the All-Ireland club championship.
