"Unbelievable" says keeper Brennan, TG4's man of the match. "We couldn't train during the week, but we knew we had the work done. Our team has never been as well prepared and it paid off today."
It completes a double at junior and intermediate for St Lachtain's:
"It's unbelievable for the parish. We had four buses going up today full of supporters. We won in 2010 and a couple of lads are still on the team, Johnny Fitz and Brian Kennedy. It's unbelievable for them. These are the days you dream about as a young lad."
Goalkeeper Darren Brennan launches a massive free to seal it for the Kilkenny men. All over, a deserved victory for a slicker St Lachtain's side. Disappointment for Russell Rovers, who made a fight of it in the closing minutes having looked out of it at the three quarters stage. No joy for Russell Rovers as they lose out 0-16 to 1-18 to a superior St Lachtain's side. Goalkeeper Darren Brennan, after two second-half saves, became St Lachtain's 12th different scorer at the death.
Lachtain's gaffer Stephen Farrell urges his players to calm down, not that calmly it must be said. Josh Beausang free makes it a four-point game.
Luke Duggan Murray launches another from almost exactly the same place. Lead back to five with four mins left.
The difference remains six points in the last 10 minutes and Russell Rovers have just been beaten in too many positions. Alex Rafter and the Hickeys Liam and Cathal have been excellent for St Lachtain's. Ciaran Sheehan hasn't got much change out of Paul Lane at the edge of the square. JF
Luke Duggan Murray gives Rovers hope with a long-ranger.
The difference remains seven points in the last 10 minutes and Russell Rovers have just been beaten in too many positions. Alex Rafter and the Hickeys Liam and Cathal have been excellent for St Lachtain's. Ciaran Sheehan hasn't got much change out of Paul Lane at the edge of the square. JF
Darragh Maher, who was named to start, is on for Cathal O'Leary, for Lachtain's. Rovers need a massive effort to pull this out.
Cathal Hickey adds another, left in acres of space out on the left.
Super point falling backwards by Alex Rafter. The Kilkenny men finding scores that bit easier to accumulate.
Point from free by Josh Beausang has lead back to five points
Ross Walsh saves from James Maher who had a hurley thrown at him en route to goal. Rovers escape and add a point at the other end.

St Lachtain's have stretched their lead to five points, 1-12 to 0-10, and now boast 10 different scorers. They are beating Russell Rovers to oodles of primary ball now.
Liam Hickey free restores Lachtain's 3-point advantage.
Daniel Moynihan with another score for Rovers from out around the middle of the field.
Ciaran Sheehan sets up Jack McGrath. Nice point. Rafter replies brilliantly for Lachtain's. Game opening up.
Luke Duggan Murray's shot is kept out by St Lachtain's goalkeeper Darren Brennan but Josh Beausang is on hand to score the resultant 65. Substitute Jack McGrath follows up with another but Alexander Rafter replies for St Lachtain's. Three-point difference remains. Brian Harnett pulling the strings for Rovers.
Lachtain's selector Bill Beckett tells TG4: "Very cagey. A lot of slipping, sloppy, fumbling, maybe nervous. But testament to the teams as well, they're working very hard. You'd probably say both backs are on top and maybe the forwards are yet to get going. It's there for either team."
St Lachtain's lead 1-7 to 0-7, Shane Donnelly's 22nd minute goal the difference. It took Russell Rovers 24 minutes to score from play and they have missed seven scoring opportunities but they remain in touch. Eight different scorers for St Lachtain's and four for Rovers - Josh Beausang (0-3, 2 frees), Ciarán Sheehan, James Kennefick and Fintan Murray (0-1 each). John Fogarty
Another Lachtain's score by James Maher, steadying the ship. But wingback Fintan Murray replies for Rovers.

Shane Donnelly's 22nd minute goal, making the most of a ball broken down off Liam Hickey, put St Lachtain's five points up but back Rovers came with three on the trot and all from play. Ruairí Cummins has retaliated for St Lachtain's but game has opened up now.
Mark Donnelly ends that run with a point from play for Lachtain's.
Three in a row from RR now. Another from play by James Kennefick. That Sheehan score appears to have ignited them.

Shane Donnelly pounces on the run on a ball dropped into the mixer. Drives past the helpless Ross Walsh. Lachtain's now five in front.
Cathal O'Leary points daintily after a well-worked moved from Lachtain's. They go two up.
John Fogarty reports from Croke Park: The scorefest that this junior final was expected to be hasn't turned out that way. Not yet at least. Russell Rovers have yet to score from play, Josh Beausang scoring three frees. Both themselves and St Lachtain's have hit three wides. The Kilkenny men lead 0-4 to 0-3.

Cyncial pull back by Brian kennedy halts Rovers' Brian Harnett who still nearly picked out captain Ciaran Sheehan inside. Beausang goes for goal from the free but it's saved. Yellow for Kennedy.
Paddy Killeen brings an end to a scrappy spell by lofting over from out on the right to put the Kilkenny side in front.
Fine long-range score from Liam Hickey levels the scores for Lachtain's.
Resolute defending from Rovers as Lachtain's threaten the opening goal.
A third free from Beausang from way out on the right. His radar is in. 0-3 to 0-2.
A second free from Beausang restores Rovers' lead, but St Lachtain's reply immediately through Brendan Quinn. 0-2 each.
Hawkeye called into action for the first time to award a point for St Lachtain's Alexander Rafter. All square.
12:31: Josh Beausang puts Russell Rovers into an early lead witha a free in the opening minute.
There's potentially the first two legs of a Cork club triple up for grabs at Croke Park today, but Tynagh-Abbey-Duniry and St Lachtain's will have other ideas.
