Cavan’s Maggie Farrelly is not part of the national referees panel for the 2025 Allianz Football League.
Farrelly, the first woman in history to officiate in a men’s inter-county game 10 years ago, has been on the list for the last three seasons.
Two years ago, the Laragh United woman achieved another first when she took charge of a Division 4 game between Leitrim and London in Bekan having refereed the Cavan SFC final between Gowna and Ramor United the previous year.
Other referees not part of the panel for the upcoming season include Cork’s John Ryan (Macroom) and Kerry’s Seamus Mulvihill (St Senan’s).
Meanwhile, outgoing Kerry minor strength and conditioning coach Shane O’Rourke is to team up with Peter Keane in Clare.
Kildare native O’Rourke, a lecturer in MTU in Tralee, worked with Kerry minor manager Wayne Quinlivan this past season and was previously S&C coach for the Kingdom’s hurlers during Fintan O’Connor’s time in charge.
Keane’s management team is to feature Miltown-Malbay coach Eoin Curtin and former Roscommon coach Peter Tormey. Westmeath man Tormey has been managing Rhode this past season and was part of Davy Burke’s set-up in 2022.
Elsewhere, former Waterford chairman Tom Cunningham is understood to be in the running to succeed Seán Michael O'Regan as chair of the county. Current vice-chairman Neil Moore is expected to contest the election. Central Council delegate Brendan Tobin is to seek the vice-chairman's role.
