For those of us peering in from outside, Mike Russell is one of the less spoken about Imokilly players. And that shouldn’t really be the case.

Russell is part of the Imokilly furniture since 2009. Only Brian Lawton has been around longer. He was corner-back for the 2018 county final win, centre-back 12 months later, and would have been involved in the first of the three-in-a-row too were it not for a ruptured cruciate while playing club football with Aghada.
