Anthony Daly: Brian Lohan due huge credit for turnaround

In my analysis for RTÉ at half-time on Saturday in Croke Park, I was harsh on Clare. It wasn’t personal, just reality. I was wondering was this where it was all going to end for this group under Brian Lohan. After five years under probably Clare’s greatest ever player, was the final chapter going to be this dark?

It may have been hard for Clare people to hear but what else was I supposed to say? Apart from Eibhear Quilligan, David McInerney and Conor Leen, and David Reidy who was trying hard, you couldn’t say any of the other players were playing anywhere near the level required. Lohan even said afterwards that they could have taken off six or seven fellas at the break.
