FOR CLUB AND COUNTY: Castlehaven's Cathal Maguire during the Munster club SFC semi-final at Fraher Field.

Cork boss John Cleary has wasted no time in handing Cathal Maguire an opportunity to stake his place for increased inter-county involvement in 2024.

The in-form Castlehaven man - a week on from being knocked out of the All-Ireland club championship at the semi-final stage by Roscommon's St Brigid's - is one of a number of fringe players named on Cleary's panel to take on Waterford in their McGrath Cup round 2 clash on Sunday (2pm).
