In the Páirc Uí Chaoimh tunnel following last year’s Cork football final, Micheál Aodh Martin told this writer how he felt the Nemo group that had just won a fourth county in six years had never received recognition or respect for all the silverware they’d collated.

The lack of respect and lack of recognition outlined by the Nemo goalkeeper went beyond newspaper pages and local airwaves. It was how they were viewed and underrated by the Cork football public.
