Éamonn Fitzmaurice ratified for two more years as Kerry manager

As reported by John Fogarty this morning, Éamonn Fitzmaurice has been confirmed as Kerry manager for a further two-year term.

Fitzmaurice has led the Kingdom to an All-Ireland in 2014 and four Munster titles since taking charge for the 2013 season.

His initial three-year term was extended by a year after defeat to Dublin in the 2015 All-Ireland, although this year ended, as in 2013 and 2015, at the hands of the Dubs.

Fitzmaurice’s extension will see him remain one of the longest serving managers in inter-county football, only behind Tyrone's Mickey Harte.

Diarmuid Murphy, Mikey Sheehy, Padraig Corcoran and Liam Hassett were selectors with Fitzmaurice last year, but his backroom team for 2017 will be confirmed at a later date.
