Clare booked a place in the final of the Waterford Crystal Cup, while the other semi-final between Tipperary and UL was postponed.

Clare advanced to their third Waterford Crystal Cup final in succession, following a 2-28 to 1-4 win over UCC this afternoon at Sixmilebridge.

Colin Ryan scored 1-13 for the winners including a 12th minute penalty goal, which helped the reigning champions to a 1-6 to 0-0 lead.

Cork's Pat Deasy netted a goal for UCC before the break, but Ryan brought his tally to 1-5 by the interval, as Clare held a 1-10 to 1-3 half-time lead.

Clare failed to ease up on the restart, and held the students to just one second-half point, with David O'Halloran registering the hosts second goal two minutes from the end.

Meanwhile, Tipperary and UL await news from the Munster Council of their rearranged fixture, after their semi-final meeting was postponed due to an unplayable pitch at McDonagh Park in Nenagh.
