Creedon appointed Tipp senior football manager

Cork native Peter Creedon has been appointed Tipperary senior football manager for the remainder of the 2012 season.

The appointment was ratified last night at a meeting of the Tipperary County Board with Donegal's Gerry McGill and Michael O’Loughlin from Clonmel named as selectors.

His appointment follows the resignation of John Evans after the March 18 defeat to Sligo.

Creedon has previously coached Carbery Rangers in his native Rosscarbery at both U21 and senior level in 2011.

He lives in Thurles and is involved in coaching underage teams with Durlas Og and Sarsfields ladies football club.

His introduction to Tipperary football was when he coached the Cahir senior football team in 2001 to their first south title in since the 1950s. He also successfully coached teams in Cashel Community School, winning Munster football championships at minor level.

Creedon spent five years in charge of Tipperary minor and u21 teams from 2003 to 2008. In that time Tipperary reached an All Ireland quarter final and three Munster finals.
