ROUNDUP: Nicky Rackard Cup / Lory Meagher Cup

London and Louth were victorious in their Nicky Rackard Cup openers this afternoon, while there were wins for Donegal, Tyrone and South Down in the Lory Meagher Cup.

London were 1-19 to 1-17 winners over Roscommon, and Louth claimed a 4-18 to 1-07 triumph over Sligo at Markievicz Park.

Louth led by just two points at half-time on a 1-08 to 1-06 scoreline, but left Sligo stunned on the restart.

A hat-trick of second half goals paved the way for a deserved Louth victory, with Sligo held to just one point in the closing 35 minutes.

In the Lory Meagher Cup, a glut of goals also proved vital as Donegal recorded a 3-16 to 1-13 win over Warwickshire.

Tyrone registered a 4-17 to 2-12 win over Longford, and South Down had a facile 4-25 to 0-08 win over Leitrim at Liatroim in Down.

Meanwhile, Cavan conceded a walkover to Fermanagh as the Breffni County side were unable to field 15 players for the game.
