Louth to face Dublin as Qualifier draw is made

Louth will be hoping to put the controversial end to their Leinster final loss to Meath behind them when they face Dublin in the fourth round of the All-Ireland SFC qualifiers.

The draw for the final round of the football qualifiers was made in Castlebar, following the completion of the Connacht final this evening.

Peter Fitzpatrick's Louth side were first out of the pot and paired with Dublin who overcame Armagh at Croke Park yesterday.

That game is one of two fourth round ties that will see teams from the same province meet.

Munster rivals Limerick and Cork were drawn against each other with the Shannonsiders hoping to bounce back from their three-point loss to Kerry in the Munster decider.

Conor Counihan's Cork charges overcame Wexford by 0-12 to 0-5 at Wexford Park this afternoon to keep their All-Ireland challenge alive.

Meanwhile, both Monaghan and Sligo will have little time to overcome their defeats to Tyrone and Roscommon in the Ulster and Connacht finals respectively.

Monaghan have been pitted against Kildare who got the better Derry by 2-17 to 1-9 at Celtic Park yesterday.

Sligo's lot for losing to Roscommon today is a tough assignment against a Down outfit that beat Offaly by 1-12 to 1-10 in Tullamore last evening.

Meanwhile, a draw for the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship quarter-finals was not required, following Tipperary's 0-21 to 1-12 win over Offaly in Portlaoise this afternoon.

The Premier County side will now face Galway, while Antrim's reward for their shock one-point victory over Dublin yesterday is a first Championship meeting with Cork since 2004.

The Rebels claimed a 2-26 to 0-10 win in that encounter six years ago, which marked the last occasion the Saffrons reached an All-Ireland quarter-final.

The venues and throw-in times will be decided by the GAA's Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC) tomorrow, with all six games pencilled in for next weekend.
