Four changes for Wexford
Wexford manager Colm Bonnar has made four changes to his team for Saturday's All-Ireland SHC phase 1 qualifier against Tipperary at Semple Stadium (throw-in 3.30pm).
Paul Roche returns at right corner back, replacing Lar Prendergast, and their Oulart-the Ballagh club-mate David Redmond has also been introduced in defence.
Having recently returned home from Australia, Redmond will start his first game of the year at wing back, taking over from Darren Stamp. He was introduced as a substitute in the recent Leinster Championship loss to Galway.
Team captain Diarmuid 'Gizzy' Lyng is suspended for Saturday's trip to Thurles, after picking up a red card against Galway- so Tomas Waters, a goal-scoring substitute last time out, slots in at centre-forward.
With Peter Atkinson moving to right half-forward, Tomas Mahon from the Rapparees club comes in for Michael Jacob at top of the left.
Hoping his side can upset the odds, Bonnar said:
"Tipperary have been considered one of the contenders for the All-Ireland. They had a setback against Cork so will be hoping to bounce back from that.
"We will need to create doubts in their minds from the outset. We have learned from the Galway game where we did not build and push home our advantage at crucial stages.
"It's a huge game in their own back yard but we will be up to meet the challenge. We had a good work-out, defeating a full-strength Waterford in a challenge.
"They will try to hit the ground running but that's something we'll be prepared for and hopefully cope with. We will try and impose our game on them," he told the Wexford People.
